8 Lessons of life that I have learned from Photography in 2014.... Life is not necessarily what it seems through the viewfinder.......Once it's transferred onto the big screen, we can see things more clearly. My whole perspective of the view changes when I lift the camera higher over the filth at my feet.....Your attitude determines your altitude . Everyone I photograph has a story to tell.....Take the time to listen. The little detail in the corner, once cropped, can become the main feature!....Don't ignore small beginnings. Black and white photography helps to show the light and shadows more clearly...... It's going through the tough times (the boring black and white) that we gain a better perspective of life. Saturating an otherwise drab colour photograph a little often turns it into a wow!.... Praise and encourage those you meet, it raises them higher (and you in the process) You don't have to photograph the whole thing, sometimes just a little part tells a better story...... We don't need to try and figure out the "whole thing" just do our part, Trust Him, and seize the moment, "the little!" Beauty can be found anywhere and everywhere......Take the time to look, see and capture!

I love when these red velvet Christmas spiders arrive in Tete! They come out of the ground with the first rain of the season! Love them as I have fond memories of collecting them in jars whilst growing up. It symbolizes rains arriving and Christmas

The beautiful delicate, white velvet flower of the baobab tree. Always amazes me! Only flowers for one day.

  • The interesting Margose very popular in Mauritius. Karela Bitter Gourd “Margose” is a delicious simple to cook recipe that is one of the most nutritious vegetables. I have always loved this vegetable/fruit since I was little. I love it any kind of dishes whether stir fried, curried, vindaye spices. Bitter gourd or Karela may not be the favourite of many people because of it’s bitter taste. However over centuries this fruit /vegetable has been one of the main ingredients in many medicinal recipes and therapeutic treatments. It is packed with some key nutrients and healthy components, making it a very healthy addition to your diet. The secret of all it’s good properties lies in the bitterness, it is loaded with medicinal values. The more I read about this vegetable the more I am fascinated to find out about these benefits of this humble fruit/vegetable. Some of its benefits include maintaining balanced digestive system, improve immune system, good to treat and balance diabetes, aid weight loss, and good for eye sight and with its high antioxidant content it’s a great ingredient to keep you look radiant and beautiful. I am definitely keeping Karela in my diet for sure, and believe me with all of these good reasons I am certain one can overlook its bitter taste and consider eating it.
