Yes many or most of us Zimbo's are so unsettled no matter where we might be. I have been helping my sister pack up her home for yet another move whilst we are still living in suitcases and have packed up and moved three times in the past year. I've been sitting quietly pondering and asking God why, please just sort this once and for all.... A friend sent me this verse and it speaks so loud and clear. He is faithful and we need to remember that. Keep praising! We always need to have HOPE, this comes before victory, and that's just around the corner....

I feel so blessed to finally be in a place where we can put down roots again. Since losing the farms in 2005 we have seriously had an exciting life and God has been so faithful, but the "gypsy life" is tiring. I can now find the seeds and plant them finally..... Yet, we are just strangers passing through on this earth, so we can never get too comfortable. Here are a few pics from the last weekend in Mauritius...

Collecting seeds again! Yay

Seriously windy time of the year...
My daily walks certainly have different views from Gabon
Love these reflections in a koi pond...
Gorgeously rich coloured framboise sold on the beach...

  • Tete Fort São Tiago Maior........ Forte de São Tiago Maior do TeteOrigem located on the right bank of the Zambezi River in Tete city, capital of the province of Tete, Mozambique. the occupation of the original Swahili town of Tete by the Portuguese forces dates back to 1530, then part of the United Monomopata, The village was elevated to a town and county seat in 1763. This fortification of Tete goes back to the years 1575-1576, a period when the Portuguese effectively consolidated their presence in the region. LAPA & Ferreri (1889) believe, however, that this fort was built by orders of Captain-General Caetano de Melo e Castro (1682-1686) but only completed in 1875, when it was designated as Fort D. Louis .According to historian Anthony Soup, its structure was ruined in 1836. In the early twentieth century, in 1911-1912, the then Governor of Tete requested its demolition as he considered it worthless, It avoided destruction and was transformed into warehouse for amoured cars At the time of the Second World War, their walls were fortified and restored a period and the gate entrance replaced.
Gate looking in......  unfortunately they have built the city water tank inside :( Gate looking out over city of Tete

Now I am back in a slightly more "civilized" country....... far away from the wide open spaces and exciting daily adventures, but I can hope I can continue to show you the beauty from this very populated little Island, Mauritius, just a speck in the Indian Ocean....
